New Delhi 4th Oct 2018-   As part of its commitment to the environment, Parijat Industries has been supporting tree plantation drives as one of its CSR projects in alliance with Radhika Anand and her project “Mission Falvan fruit for all”. Under the aegis of this program Radhika Anand has planted more than 250,000 fruit trees in many of Indian states, including Punjab, Haryana, Gujrat, Maharashtra Bihar etc.

As a defense persons daughter, Radhika lived her childhood and youth in Cantonments and she says, she picked up her passion for trees and the environment from the verdant trees and green campus of cantonments.

Radhika Anand has been working with the environment for over two decades, and recently awarded as Green Ambassador for NSG (National Security Guard). She is the founder and CEO of her self-funded venture “Plantology” to take up green initiatives across India.

“We continue to look forward to active support for planting trees and fruit trees nationwide. We believe the private sector can play a significant role in afforestation and complimenting the Governments initiatives for increasing forest cover.  We are delighted with this project as one of our CSR initiatives, and are committed to continue with support for this   project said Vikram Anand, Director Parijat.

Awareness campaign against straw burning by Parijat in UP

New Delhi 28th Sep 2018: To create awareness and sensitize farmers about environmental hazards of burning post-harvest agricultural residue, agrochemical company Parijat industries in association with department of agriculture conducted farmer training in the villages of Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh.  The special focus of the campaign was to create awareness among farmers about proper management of crops residue and the ill effects of stubble burning after harvesting.

Crop residue burning is one of the major issues of concern not only for agriculture but for the society as a whole. This cannot be dealt in isolation and technologies alone are not enough to address this challenge until there is awareness in society. Several efforts are being by government to provide various residue management implements on subsidy to the farmers. I appeal to the farmers to follow and spread the message” Said Ramcharit Chaudhaury ADO Agriculture.

He also urged farmers to adopt straw management technologies and sensitized the participants about the straw management and need of creating awareness among masses.

During the event representatives from Parijat also trained farmers on responsible use of Crop Protection products and importance of usage of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) at the time of spraying. Parijat has also distributed pocket size safety handbook to farmers. Parijat has published special pocket size safety handbooks as a ready reference for safe use of pesticides by farmers in 9 important Indian languages such as Bangla, English, Gujrati, Hindi, Kannad, Marathi, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, and these are being widely distributed for free to farmers across the country.

Parijat Educates Farmers on Safe Use and Disposal of Pesticides’ in Maharashtra villages

Mumbai, India 26 Sep 2018- In keeping with its commitment for disseminating training to farmers on safe use, storage and handling of pesticides and container management, Parijat Industries India Pvt Ltd in association with of Department of Agriculture conducted a mega farmer interaction at Buldana district of Maharashtra. Nearly 700 progressive farmers participated in the program. The one-day event covered trainings for farmers including judicious and responsible use of Crop Protection chemicals, secure storage of pesticides, impacts of counterfeit and illegal products, use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as masks and gloves, correct spraying techniques, maintaining sprayers and nozzles, and triple rinsing of used containers.

“This is a commendable initiative led by Parijat to educate the farmers on the use of crop protection products and disposal of used containers. These programs help us to achieving our mission and to protect the interests and well-being of our farmers. The training will ultimately benefit not just farmers, but also their families, schoolchildren. Such type of initiative positively impacts the quality and productivity of the crops and aims to improve the living conditions of farmers” …. Parijat educates Farmers in Madhya Pradesh on Responsible Use Crop Protection Products

New Delhi, India, 28 August 2018– Correct and responsible use of Crop Protection Products by farmers, in terms of selection, dosage, application, Safety and storage is a of paramount importance for farmers.

As a responsible Agrochemical company Parijat is deeply committed to play its role in providing training to farmers with regard to responsible use of Crop Protection Products.  Continuous and multi-pronged programs are carried on in different parts of the country and these efforts are now being intensified.

Starting from May 2018 in Madhya Pradesh a continuous effort has been ongoing, wherein 12000 farmers have been provided training and through channel partners in various talukas and villages of the state. The program has consisted of 30 field demonstrations, 270 farmer sessions in Indore, Dhar, Ratlam, Bhopal, Vidisha, Guna, Hosangabad, Harda, Dabra, Khargone, Katni, Rewa, Sagar and other districts of the state.

In its three-month program, representatives from Parijat Industries, Agricultural input dealers and panchayat representatives attended.

Keeping in mind the vision “Responsible use of crop protection products, Parijat has also distributed more than 11000 safety handbooks to farmers, dealers’ distributors across Madhya Pradesh. The pocket size safety handbook is a ready reference for safe use of pesticides by farmers. Parijat has prepared safety handbook in 9 important Indian languages such as Bangla, English, Gujrati, Hindi, Kannad, Marathi, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu.

“Our project on health and safety is highly successful in Madhya Pradesh. The farmer behavior has undergone the following changes – Judicious use of pesticides, in terms of category, discretion in quantity and need; Spraying to done at the exact time; Awareness about spurious pesticides, hence no purchase of pesticides without Bill; Complete use of Personal Protection Equipment while spraying etc. The training program has covered more than 12000 farmers and dealers in various villages comes under Madhya Pradesh state and thus strengthened our commitment towards Indian Agriculture and farmers and we will replicate this project in other states of India”. The training curriculum includes safety banners, flipchart banner, leaflet, safety handbook modules covering a wide range of topics such as Integrated Pest Management, role of beneficial insects including pollinators, judicious and responsible use of chemicals, secure storage of pesticides, impacts of counterfeit and illegal products, use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as masks and gloves, correct spraying techniques, maintaining sprayers and nozzles, and triple rinsing of used containers.

Parijat educates farmers about ill effects of crop residue burning

New Delhi 10th August 2018:- In a bid to create awareness about the ill effects of crop residue burning and management, Parijat Urja Chakra in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVKs) organized a special campaign at Fatehgarh village of Ambala in Haryana.

The special focus of the campaign was to create awareness among farmers about proper management of crops residue and the ill effects of stubble burning after harvesting. The meeting was attended by dozens of farmers.

The burning of agricultural Crop Residue (CRB) has been identified as a major health hazard, in addition to causing exposure to extremely high levels of Particulate Matter concentration to people in the immediate vicinity.

Senior scientist from Krishi Vigyan Kendra Dr. Guruprem sensitized the participants about the importance of straw management and the need of creating awareness among the rural masses. He also explained about the recommended machinery and techniques of straw management.

Such type of campaign is necessary to sensitize the farmers about management for residue. Several efforts are being made to provide the various residue management implements on subsidy to the farmers. I appealed to the farmers to follow and spread the message given by the team of KVK for the welfare of the society and to save environment? Said Dr. Guruprem

Underscoring the impact of crop residue burning, he said crop burning leads to air, land and water pollution.  It also leads to reduction of nutrients in the soil.

Keeping in mind the commitment towards farmers, safety handbooks were also distributed amongst the farmers on safe use of crop protection products.

On the other hand, the Haryana government is also set to launch a massive campaign in the state to create awareness among farmers about proper management of crops residue and the ill effects of stubble burning in view of the ensuing paddy harvesting season.
