MODE OF ACTION

  • FIPRONIL interferes in nerve impulse transmission by blocking Gamma Amino Butyric Acid (GABA)-gated chloride channels in the central nervous system
  • It blocks the passage/uptake of chloride ions resulting in excess neuronal stimulation
  • This hyperexcitation of insects’ nerves and muscles leads severe paralysis and death of the insect
  • Acetamiprid acts as Nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR) Antagonist at the neuronal and neuromuscular junctions of central nervous system. It disturbs the proper signal transmission system which leads to excitation of nerve cell and followed by savior paralysis and finally to the death of the treated insect

METHOD & TIME OF APPLICATION

  • Foliar Spray is recommended
  • Apply as soon as the insect population begins to appear in the field but before it reaches Economic Threshold Level (ETL)
  • Mix the recommended dose in ¼ of the recommended quantity of water to the spray tank with agitation
  • Add remaining quantity of water with continuous agitation
  • Uniform coverage is necessary for effective control of insect pests

SAFETY INSTRUCTION AND ANTIDOTE

  • Uniform spray should be advisable
  • Ensure full coverage of foliage.
  • Use proper recommended water volume for batter result
  • Wear safety equipment’s such as gloves, aprons, masks, etc.
  • Do not smoke, drink, eat and chew anything while spraying
  • Avoid contact with mouth, eyes and skin
  • Avoid inhalation the spray mist, fog and vapors
  • Take bath properly after application
  • Antidote – No specific antidote is known. Treat symptomatically
