Mode of Action

  • Implicite acts on the power houses of the insect’s cells – inhibits respiration and energy production. It involved in disrupting the transformation of ADP into ATP: –Uncouplers of oxidative phosphorylation via disruption of the proton gradient Protonophores that short-circuit the mitochondrial proton gradient so that ATP cannot be synthesized, & insect eventually dies.
